The Week In Review
14 September 2012

Hey, happy "my future girlfriend is coming to NZ" week.

If you heard a loud noise a few days ago, that was probably the sound of the massive smile suddenly appearing when I heard that Ellie Goulding was going to be coming to NZ for a concert. My face could barely contain the joy.

As you probably know by now, I have a tiny crush on Ellie Goulding, but that's only because she's gorgeous and talented and amazing and perfect and would make my life complete if she just held my hand for like a second. So it's nothing serious.

But now I'm freaking out because she's coming to New Zealand for the first time ever in October to do a concert (or to meet me? I guess we'll never know her true reasons...) and I will get to meet her, and I don't know if I could even bring myself to look her in the eyes.

She's performing on 26 October at The Studio in Auckland, and tickets go on sale Thursday 20 September at Ticketmaster.co.nz

Also on my wish-list is the English singer-songwriter Ben Howard. And we're taking affirmative action to pretty much force him to come here. Not in a creepy way, more in a creative way. This is a guy who is notoriously transcendent to watch live. His songs are stunning, and everything we've heard about his live performances has been amazing.

We need him to come to NZ so we can witness it for ourselves. And to do so, we're creating a video that we will send his management to make sure he sees, featuring the people of New Zealand asking him to come.

This is where you come in. If you'd like to help get Ben Howard to NZ, watch THIS VIDEO, then send in your own picture to infoNZ@umusic.com. (There will be spot prizes given out as well)

Thanks in advance,

Brendon.

Mumford & Sons – I Will WaitAaradhna – free song

All this music video does is make me want their November concert to hurry up and arrive. This new album is going to be great, you guys.

Our own gorgeous Aaradhna is being very generous and giving away a brand new song for free. Lucky for us it's another excellent tune. Get 'Can We Go Back' here...

Robbie Williams – CandyEllie Goulding remix

So Robbie Williams is back. The first time I listened to 'Candy' I was like "What?", but then I listened again and I was still like "What?", but then I actually listened to it and was finally like "Yep, ok, good". Cool story, Brendon.

Jeez, sorry for the Ellie overload. (I'm not sorry at all). This remix of her new song 'Anything Could Happen' is definitely worthy of a listen. The original still takes the cake, but this is a great effort.

Competition: Win The Killers - Battle Born

The brand new album from The Killers is finally here, and it was worth the wait. It's big, you guys. And we've got 5 copies to give away.

Just email infoNZ@umusic.com with the subject line 'The Killers please', and you're in to win.

Easy as.

Album Of The Week: Carly Rae Jepsen - Kiss

It's been awhile since there was a great Pop record. Like an album that's wall to wall top pop quality. And, you may be surprised about this, Carly Rae Jepsen has delivered one of those albums. Kiss is a perfectly balanced collection of pop hits, kitsch references and modern production merge seamlessly.

Let yourself get swept up in this bubblegum dream.
